Display Cart Total and Item Count on pages..

Hey guys..

I've been managing several cartweaver sites for a while, and can usually tinker around until I solve the problem I might be having... however, we're redesigning our sites and are wanting to put a "Cart Total: $x.xx (x items)" on the front, and other, pages for when people abandon carts or click a continue shopping link.

I see things I think might be the solution within CWCart.php, but I'm not sure. and I can't really find any direct guidance in the manual.. it actually refers to a file called CWCartLinks.php that I can't locate.

Anyone have any guidance or ideas? I'm sure it's relatively easy to do, as I see it done on other sites, I assume I'm just overlooking something simple.

Hi,

To get the # of items in the cart, anywhere on your site *(provided you have included the main application.php file), you can use this:

<?php echo $cartweaver->getCartQty(); ?>

As for the total, I suggest you start by looking at file CWIncShowCart.php so that you se ehow the total is handled, and based on that you could use that snipped for your own widget.

Thanks so much Oli! I have gotten the cart quantity to display perfectly across all of our pages using the function you suggested.

I can get the Cart Subtotal to display, but only on the showcart.php page.

I used this:

<?php echo(cartweaverMoney($cart["CartTotals"]["Sub"])); ?>

line from the show cart page.

All other pages display an error referring to the undefined $cart variable.

I'm kind of stuck here. I've tried checking to see if the $cart variable is set, but that returns the same error.

Any help on what direction I need to head?

Solved the Subtotal problem I was having. Found some great threads on here to help me!

However, and there's always a however (lol)...

Occasionally, when a cart has been started, then abandoned, then the same customer returns a few days later, the "items in cart" total shows the old cart count, and $0.00 in the subtotal. When we view the cart, it's actually empty. The old count just seems to be lingering.

Any ideas or suggestions?
